Welcome to The Park Community School

A welcome from our Headteacher - Stephen Waldron

Thank you for your interest in The Park Community School. With due reverence to our legacy as a Grammar school dating back to 1910, we are also a forward-thinking community dedicated to employing the best new technologies and research for the benefit of our students. We will offer your child a dynamic, holistic education within a spacious 22 acre learning environment that has outstanding resources and facilities.

The world that awaits our students has never been more uncertain. It is therefore vital that we work together to equip them with the support, skills, knowledge and confidence to allow them to flourish with resilience and hope.

Teenage years can be traumatic, with new influences, feelings and perspectives arriving at a time when we are demanding the most from our young people academically. Through our legacy house system we make sure our pastoral team have everything they need in order to care for, support and guide our young people through these vital years. Our House System at Park is the spine of the school – deeply valued by staff and students, encouraging a sense of belonging, teamwork and friendly rivalry.

Our curriculum model is bespoke – based on the latest educational research; and designed to deliver outstanding results. It teaches students to value their learning, it embeds core knowledge into their working memory which liberates students and teachers alike to explore ideas creatively developing our students as lifelong learners with a burning curiosity.

Whilst core subjects are the heart of learning at Park – Sport, the Arts and extra-curricular experiences are the soul. These aspects of school life develop soft skills and create experiences that enable Park students to participate with confidence in all aspects of society.

We work together to create an optimistic, positive culture where expectations are high, trust and relationships are key. At Park we live according to a set of values that run like a thread through every aspect of school life. These can be summed up as three simple principles – Be Here, Be Kind, Work Hard.

We are not ashamed of our high expectations and standards. We want Park students to become confident, creative and successful learners, each with a story to tell and a bright future ahead.

If you share in our values and vision, we hope that you will choose to join us and become part of the unfurling legacy of The Park Community School.
