During the month of October the Park School community is recognising Black History Month 2024, embracing the theme of reclaiming narratives.
There are a number of initiatives happening in school including:
- sharing information in assemblies across all year groups
- supported by our students, the canteen will be celebrating dishes from the African continent and the Caribbean
- Our fortnightly Cultural Champions Group will be meeting to share narratives and welcome all students who would like to take part, we will be looking at celebrating our local diversity, students exploring their own identities and cultures, explore and value difference, understand racism and its impact, build student empowerment to tackle racism
- We have subscribed to blackhistorymonth.org.uk and are sharing their resources with our students and staff celebrating our diverse and vibrant community that makes modern Britain
