A group of year 9 students have been working hard for their Bronze Arts Award. They are working alongside the Barnstaple Museum and textiles artist Angie Parker. Angie travelled down from Bristol this week to lead practical workshops in school. Inspired by the current Ethel Mairet exhibition at the museum, students used natural dyes to colour their yarn and have used a loom to weave colourful and intricate patterns, their weaves will be made into cushions. A fantastic experience and insight into traditional woven textiles.
