In November Park School hosted its annual Careers Fair. Over 25 exhibitors attended, including;
Army and Royal Navy
Devon, Cornwall and Somerset Police and Fire Service
Rosie Bracher’s Solicitors
North Devon Hospice
Skern and Ringway
Safe Working Lifts
Harland & Wolff
Bideford 6th Form
and Exeter College.
May I personally thank all of the exhibitors who came in to support the day. Every student in the year groups 9 – 11 accessed the School Hall, they found the experience informative and inspiring in equal measure, as they were able to discuss and formulate their future plans with prospective employers and places of further education. This was of particular benefit to our Year 9 pupils as they start to think about their GCSE option choices for the beginning of Year 10.
The fair was also a source of great inspiration for our current Year 11 pupils, as they begin the process of securing their prospective college places.
May I also thank all of the students who attended the Careers Fair, all of the exhibitors commended the students on their conduct and interactions, they were particularly impressed with their inquisitive nature and thoughtful questioning. At the end of the day, CSgt Nick Keast from the Royal Navy said to me
“Your students have been fantastic, they have represented the school really well, you must be extremely proud of how they have done today” – Indeed I was!
