The Park Community School launched a reverse advent calendar to raise awareness and gain donations for Northern Devon Foodbank. Teachers presented facts and information to students to explain how Foodbank helps the local community. Then each day of December two students from every tutor group donated much needed items of food.
On 15th December, Maths teacher/Charity Coordinator Mrs O’Callaghan and five students filled the school bus with the collection of items and delivered them to the volunteers at the Foodbank collection point, at St John’s Community Centre, Barnstaple.
The Foodbank volunteers were amazed and grateful for the number of items that had been collected by the school.
