Wednesday 13th May saw an impressive display of talent from Park School compete in the North Devon Schools Athletics Championships at the Braunton Athletics Track. Not only was the sun out for us but we had the winning bug as well!
We took 4 teams; Junior Boys & Girls (Yr8 & 9) and Inter Boys & Girls (Yr10 & 11). With a unique event like Athletics, the students have to ensure that they arrive at their event on time and watch the results carefully to see if they qualify for the final.
If they are in the top 3, they were invited to represent North Devon on 13th June at Exeter Arena. I am pleased and excited to say, that we had 17 students across the 4 teams qualify in 1 event and some in 2 events (see table) Watching the Junior Girls relay team triumph over the opposition topped the day off perfectly. It was a fantastic display of talent and as usual the student’s behaviour was exemplary.
I know sport is not all about winning but it does feel good when it happens!!

Junior Boys – 1st
Inter Girls- 1st
Inter Boys – 3rd
