Students performed at the UK Taiko Festival on Friday 3rd July to a packed out Northcott Theatre at the University of Exeter. Their coach, Gill Ashcroft, was very proud of their performance and had been working with them since May on their 5-minute piece. The Park School Taiko group have named themselves ‘Koen’, which is Japanese for ‘Park’. Their piece involved many complex, intricate rhythms and was named ‘All About the Beat’ inspired by the hit pop song ‘All About the Bass’. Koen Taiko are looking forward to continuing practicing next term and will be on the look out for more community and school performances.
