Last week The History Society and some very enthusiastic Year 8’s set off for London and the home of the British Government – Parliament. Unlike previous visitors who came in November, they were not trying to blow the place up. Instead, they were keen on finding out about the history of Parliament and how it all works. After a long journey Mr Chugg and the students enjoyed a tour of Parliament featuring access to the Houses of Parliament and Lords. Students had an opportunity to question Lord Mott and Ian Roome MP. They took this chance with the true Park School spirit and both men looked exhausted by the time the students finished with their questions! It was extremely heart-warming for Mr Chugg and Ms Baker to see the students take such pride and enthusiasm in the trip. They arrived home late, but the students had greatly enjoyed the whole experience. Mr Chugg and Ms Baker would like to thank all those who attended for their excellent behaviour throughout the day.
