Miss Pittwood and Mrs Walden took two Child Development groups to visit the Devon antenatal family centre in Barnstaple.  Students enjoyed their visit, particularly looking at the wide array of children’s clothing and equipment, experiencing the stay and play parent and child cafe, and partaking in a childcare class first hand. 

Child Development students learnt how to change a baby’s nappy and clothes, and also learnt about various pain relief options for childbirth, as well as the three stages of labour. Students were also keen to get involved in the question and answer session on childhood illnesses.
