World Book Day

World Book Day

On Thursday 7th March Park school played host to a huge range of fun and fantastical literary characters as staff and students dressed up for World Book Day 2024.

At the start of the school day students gathered to get a look at their teachers outfits as staff convened for a photo opportunity. It was wonderful to see the fabulously creative costumes which ranged from Matilda to Cruella Deville, Where’s Wally to Peter Rabbit, Peter Pan even extended to a full set of Crayons.

The Year 11 Book Club prefects had the important job of judging the best dressed department, which after much note-taking and debating, was awarded to the SASC department with their walking depiction of the Hungry Caterpillar.

Prizes were also awarded for the best individual staff costume, the best dressed students from across years 7-11 and the best Tutor Group book-related classroom display.

Students also took part in reading activities at the start of each lesson and the canteen even prepared some wonderful book themed cakes!
