The last football event for Park in 2022 was a B Team Football Tournament on home turf. The teams were selected due to their efforts in Mondays football training and performance in PE lessons. The squad faced teams representing Bideford, Pilton and Braunton in a seven-a-side tournament.

Freddie Harris captained Team A and David Pham captained Team B. Both players led their teams by example, putting in some hard yards to regain possession of the ball when lost and driving their team up the pitch at any opportunity.

Early wins from Team A came from goals from Bobby Jenkins and Isaac Symes. Team B had a few tough fixtures to start their group, resulting in two losses. John Cairns and Joe Keeble kept hopes of a turn around high with some excellent work in 1v1 scenarios.

For the last fixture of the group, Team B took on Pilton B for a chance in the third place play off. John broke through three defenders and dinked the keeper to open the scoring, Joe sent a rocket off his right boot landing him a goal.

Park’s Team A made it to the final where a draw wasn’t enough to separate them from Bideford so the game went to penalties. Five penalties each and the game was still level. Knockout penalties and misses from Charlie Gilston and Tyler Bush put Park under pressure. Fortunately, Bideford couldn’t find the net either. Isaac set up to win the penalties for Park…. head over the ball he drove the shot into the bottom left corner.
