Our Year 9 students recently embarked on an unforgettable geography fieldwork trip to Lynmouth, where they explored the full journey of a river – from its oozy upland source to its dramatic mouth at the coast. This hands-on experience brought classroom learning to life, allowing students to observe river features, measure flow rates, and understand erosion and deposition in real time. This enriching opportunity is a key part of our geography curriculum, helping students develop fieldwork skills, deepen their understanding of physical processes, and appreciate the dynamic nature of our landscapes. It also supports cross-curricular learning, including data analysis in maths and environmental awareness in science.
