Yr7 Rugby Park v’s Braunton

Yr7 Rugby Park v’s Braunton

Today Park welcomed Braunton for their first league game of the season. A big game was expected with both teams boasting a large number of club players and it didn’t disappoint.

Braunton started the better team pinning Park back deep towards their try line. The Braunton defence was excellent, driving back Park’s ball carriers. Braunton were the first to score after some strong running and they raced to a 3.0 lead. Park showed good character however and played their way back into the game. They played with more width and started to find space. A try from Jacob Garrett and Albert Slee got Park back in the game before Braunton pounced upon a Park error to make it 4.2.
In the final quarter Park showed real grit and determination. They kept their heads up and kept pushing. Two further tries from Garrett got Park back level before both teams narrowly missed opportunities at the end to score. 4.4 was a fair result and both teams will look forward to seeing each other again at the end of the season.
